The Challenge

Teams needed a structured approach to the organization's new goal-setting requirements that was both engaging and practical. The previous goal-setting process was inconsistent and lacked the specificity needed for meaningful performance management.

Understanding SMARTIE Goals

The SMARTIE framework expands on traditional SMART goals to include inclusivity and equity considerations:

S - Specific

The Solution

I created an interactive tool using Storyline 360 that guides users through creating comprehensive SMARTIE goals. The tool uses variables to collect user input for each element and automatically generates a complete, well-formatted goal statement.

  • Downloadable Output: Users can save and print their completed goals

Technical Implementation

Variable System

Used Storyline's variable functionality to capture and store user input for each SMARTIE component, allowing for dynamic text generation and personalized output.

User Experience Design

Designed an intuitive interface with clear navigation, progress indicators, and contextual help to ensure users could complete their goals efficiently.
